French adtech company Audion has raised €6m in a funding round led by Founders Future, Elevation Capital and Arbevel Dette Privée PME. The start-up specializes in digital audio and helps publishers, including media and podcasters, monetize their content. Audion has developed technology to automate, personalize and measure digital audio ads based on users' geographic location and the type of podcast they listen to. It also specializes in text-to-speech, which enables publishers to convert their articles into podcasts. Among Audion’s clients are RTL Group, Altice Media, Spotify and Deezer.
The fundraising will allow Audion to further develop its technology and recruit new talent. Launched in 2018 by Kamel El Hadef and Arthur Larrey, Audion has a proven track record of conducting research and publishing findings.
Founders Future is a French venture capital firm that invests in early-stage start-ups, while Elevation Capital is an investment management company that operates in France and other European countries. Arbevel Dette Privée PME is a private debt fund that invests in small and medium-sized enterprises in France. The involvement of these companies in Audion's funding round reflects the growing interest in digital audio advertising and the potential of this market in the coming years.
Audion’s innovative approach to audio advertising and publishing has the potential to revolutionize the podcast industry by making it more accessible to publishers and advertisers. By developing technology that can automate and personalize digital audio ads, Audion is helping to create a more efficient and effective advertising ecosystem for publishers and advertisers alike.
