Fortino Capital, a Belgian investment fund specializing in B2B software, has acquired a majority stake in Bonitasoft, a software editor specializing in business process management. Bonitasoft's founders and executives, CEO Miguel Valdés-Faura and COO Charles Souillard, will reinvest as minority shareholders.
Founded in 2009, Bonitasoft offers an open-source software that meets the needs of digitalizing operations and modernizing information systems. The company helps banks, for example, redefine the flow of a loan application process or manage the digital opening of accounts for new clients.
The acquisition by Fortino Capital is expected to help Bonitasoft continue its development, explore acquisition projects, and further develop its cloud platform, launched in July 2019.
The transaction was completed with the assistance of Transaction Services - 2CFinance, which conducted vendor due diligence for Bonitasoft's shareholders. By providing financial and tax advice, as well as carrying out a thorough review of the company's financial records, 2CFinance helped to ensure the transaction was successful.
Fortino Capital made the acquisition as part of its strategy of investing in promising B2B software companies, and Bonitasoft's expertise in business process management made it an attractive acquisition target. Meanwhile, Bonitasoft will be able to leverage Fortino Capital's experience and funding to grow and expand its offerings.
The acquisition of Bonitasoft by Fortino Capital is expected to benefit both companies, as they work together to develop and provide innovative solutions to businesses seeking to modernize their operations and information systems.
