Unkle, a French fintech startup, has raised €10 million from three investors from the insurance and real estate sectors: Mundi Ventures, Eurazeo-InnovAllianz, and Anaxago. These investors have joined the startup's initial group of business angels who invested €1 million in 2019.
Unkle was launched in 2019 by Matthieu Luneau, Cédric Baulme, and Charles-André Richard. It is a platform that offers a rental guarantee service to tenants who do not have one. The startup also provides digital insurance for landlords that covers 100% of unpaid rental bills.
Unkle currently has 25 employees and claims to have 20,000 tenant and landlord clients in France. With this latest funding round, the company plans to recruit 50 new employees and pursue an external growth strategy by making acquisitions.
Mundi Ventures is a Spanish venture capital firm that invests in fintech, insurtech, and healthtech startups. Eurazeo-InnovAllianz is a joint venture between Eurazeo, a French investment company, and Allianz, a German insurance company. Anaxago is a French crowdfunding platform that specializes in real estate investments.
This funding round will help Unkle expand its services and improve its offerings to better serve its clients in the French real estate market. It will also help the startup expand its reach and acquire new customers through strategic acquisitions.
